| The work of Medicine for
Mali
takes dedicated people willing to give of their time. It also takes your
help. Your prayers and contributions sustain our efforts in delivering
desperately needed aid to our fellow human beings.
Medical supplies are expensive, but
what value do you place on the life of a child? The love of a mother and
father and the desire of a better life for their children is universal.
The education of the next generation is
vital to Mali. New books, teaching aids, supplies and better
facilities feeds those who hunger for greater knowledge.
As a culture moves form primitive
village to small town, incremental steps need to be taken in the development
of an infrastructure. We have restored and expanded the distribution of
clean water in the
village
of Nana Kanieba.
Clean water is more valuable then any medicine. It is our hope that
in the near future we will bring clean water to the surrounding villages.
Better nutrition is necessary for
overall good health. Complex proteins in the Mali diet needs to be
increased. The development of sustainable agriculture is key. Production of quality foods to provide for their
own needs and hopefully the marketing of a surplus are part of the
overall development of the region.
The encouragement of a small business
atmosphere can greatly increase the potential income and independence
of the villages. Medicine for Mali, in partnership with
the people, strives to grow an entrepreneurial spirit.
We in
America
have been blessed by
God with an abundance of resources. We have also been given an unselfish
spirit and desire to help those in need. We hope you will exercise
this spirit and reach out to the people of Mali. Include us
in your prayers. Thank you. |
